EdCafé is a virtual and real “third place” where myriad institutions and organizations link to providing the most exciting and cutting-edge lectures, workshops and seminars in the nation’s capital. The organizations we link to and partner with are some of the leading think tanks, research organizations and institutions seeking to provide the information and capacities for transformational learning. EdCafé is about starting a conversation about who we can be as individuals and as a community. What are you thinking about? Contact us by email or Facebook if you have an idea to share.

The EdCafé is for you. We will provide you the tools for growth. What will you do with them?

What to do with EdCafé

The EdCafé is organized around a set of opportunities listed on the café chalkboard. Choose one that interests you and begin exploring today. Whether it’s digging into the Metropolitan Institute at Brookings, finding out fun things to do from the Washington Post or attending a book talk at Politics and Prose book store we will connect you to things that can engage you in all the ways you want. Maybe you want to get connected to a local organization like Far Southeast Family Support Collaborative or the Chamber of Commerce…they’re all here for you.

EdCafé and Partnership

EdCafé is about partnership. Many of the organizations and institutions we link to have a deep commitment to transforming our community, our nation and our planet. Contact Contact the Division of Continuing Education at ccdc_ce@udc.edu if you would like to find out about the benefits to becoming a partner with CCDC and EdCafé, including discounts on classes, outreach and marketing opportunities and program development support.

Where are EdCafé and Continuing Education at CCDC going?

We are going where you are. The Division of Continuing Education will continue to evolve in as many ways as we can.

We will begin an in-depth, 18-month long listening tour of stakeholders, including—most importantly—you. We will reach out and find out what programs you, your coworkers and neighbors want most.

We are excited to announce two new prototype programs that will launch in the late fall or early winter of 2010. One program will be inspired by the past and the other by the near future.

Touchstones will partner with us to provide seminar-based classes and workshops based on dialog and collaborative learning practices.
